In this painting Imiyari has depicted sheep shearing. The men are in the shed shearing the wool off the sheep and sending the back out to the paddocks. The yellow sheep are the dusty ones ready to be sheared. The white ones are the newly shaved ones. The children (tji-tji) are watching the sheep as they go on their way. This is the second painting of a series that Imiyari has recently started, about her childhood memories of life at Ernabella Mission in the 1950’s and 60’s. These paintings give a uniquie insight to the lives young Anangu at this time. Imiyari paints these works with much affection for her childhood.
