After the rains in Autumn and Spring, the desert flowers bloom. It looks beautiful there are flowers everywhere. When the rain finishes the worker ants (purara) collect nectar from the flowers and take it to the Honeyants (Tjala). The honeyants get big. Sometimes you can find the honeyants deep in their burrow by watching the worker ants. Digging for Tjala is a highly skilled job. They are amber coloured with two black stripes and are eaten by holding the head and legs pinched between the fingers and letting the abdomen burst the honey in the mouth.
