Kathleen Buzzacott

Kathleen Buzzacott was born in Alice Springs in Central Australia and is of Pitjantjatjara, Scottish and English heritage. She spent time living in Queensland with her brother and sister, where they lived with their father.

Kathleen’s art reflects her early childhood experiences and her life journey, telling Aboriginal stories on canvas and featuring native bush creatures. Her husband Keith and their two sons continue to hunt emu and kangaroo, often camping around Keith’s traditional homeland of the Arrernte people west of Alice Springs.

Kathleen is also gaining recognition for her jewellery designs. She works with natural seeds and traditional forms and exhibited her jewellery in Sydney in 2014.
