SOUTHERN RIGHT WHALE
Australia banned whaling in 1979. Since then, whale populations in Australian oceans have increased, and they are no longer a rare sight in our southern oceans.
The right whale is from the genus Eubalaena and inhabits southern oceans between 20° and 60° south. The species was named the right whale by whalers, who considered them the right ones to kill, as they were easy to catch and productive. The right whale has no dorsal fin.
