Daphne Napurrula Marks

Daphne was born in 1979 in Alice Springs. She was educated in both English and Luritja. When Daphne was 12 years old, she was raised by her grandmother, Narputta Nangala Jugadai, Ikuntji’s most senior and internationally recognised painter.

Daphne’s grandmother passed down to her the right to paint the Yalka Tjukurrpa at Karrkurutinytja (Bush Onion Dreaming at Lake Macdonald).
