Pauline Nampijinpa Singleton
Pauline Nampijinpa Singleton was born at Alice Springs Hospital and grew up in Yuendumu; an Aboriginal settlement located 290 km north-west of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.
She attended the local school and later moved to Alice Springs to attend Yirara College. After finishing school, she returned to Yuendumu and has been painting with Warlukurlangu Artists since 1999.
Pauline is actively involved in the Mt Theo Youth Program, helping care for young people. She has also worked with Warlpiri Media, broadcasting for local language radio programs.
Pauline is married and has two children, Bradley and Ishmail. She paints her mother’s Jukurrpa stories, Dreamings relating to her land, its features, and the plants and animals that inhabit it—stories passed down for millennia.
