Kurun Warun (Hissing Swan) is a Gunditjmara man who is also a descendant of Truganini, the sadly famous last Indigenous Tasmanian queen. This painting shows the fire stick plant. Its long stem and fibrous top end made it perfect for handmade fire, an important technology for Aboriginal people living a traditional life.
