SNOW LEOPARD
Snow Leopard (Panthera uncia) inhabits alpine and sub alpine regions of Central Asia. Reaching from the mountains of Nepal and Kashmir, to the Hindu Kush in Afghanistan and into Russian and Mongolian mountain ranges, these habitats are shrinking and fragmenting. The pelt of the Snow Leopard has been highly desirable. These factors have taken their toll on wild populations. The species is on the highly endangered species list.
