PAKUP YALLANDAR (FIRE STICK PLANT)
The lines depict a landscape, and you can see the horizon quickly. It’s called Fire Stick because that’s what it is—a Fire Stick, or Pakup Yallandar. These were used either alone or with another piece of hardwood timber to start a fire.
The Fire Stick is significant to Aboriginal people because it sparked light, warmth, and food, which means life.
