LARGE RUGS
LARGE RUGS, 6' x 4' or 180 x 120cm (approx). One of our key Cross Cultural projects, images from Australian Aboriginal artists are faithfully replicated, hand stitched onto cavas using hand dyed wool. Skills have been developed and honed over hundreds of years. The handicraft is called gabba. There is one remote region in Kashmir producing genuine gabba, crossing the border region of both Indian and Pakistani Kashmir. Copies of this craft are practiced in other places in India but skill levels are reduced and authetic quality are not present. The rugs have a non slip backing. They are also fitted with a hanging sleeve for hanging on a wall.
